God consciousness exceeds Self-consciousness
I want to briefly share a little bit of what I have been reading lately that has encouraged me as I do certain things that sometimes make me feel not worthy or rather sometimes too self conscious about certain areas of my life and forgetting to put God at the center of my activities.
Well you I have come to realize that self consciousness is a great challenge, it keeps you from doing things according to God’s plans, simply put it makes you put your self image first before obeying God’s instructions.
It makes you use sentences beginning with “what if” for example let’s say I’m asked to pray for someone who is sick to get healed and I’m like “what if this person doesn’t get well, then the people around would likely not believe I am serving a living God right?”
Similar thing happened to me sometime ago, I was told to do an exhortation concerning a topic I had never imagined to talk about for the next day’s youth conference, I told myself I wasn’t prepared, I told my mom, I don’t know if I could do this, I believe God wanted me to do it, so I prayed as I could and had troubles hearing from God, but I went back to search the scriptures and I started having insights little by little I got inspired and started writing, long story short the meeting went well, and God was indeed glorified.
Well, that’s just an example, and It just clicked in my head that same thing happened to Moses, when God told him to deliver the children of Isreal from the hands of Pharaoh and well, Moses was full of doubts because why, he stammered and put himself first, but God convinced him that He will be with him all the way.
If you’ve ever been in this kind of situation, I want you to know that it doesn’t matter how you look or what you are going through, what matters is your obedience to God, your reputation doesn’t count in the face of God and the sooner you forget it when it comes to Him, the better for you.
To be continued…
Thanks for reading.
